Ginger’s Weird Eggs

Ginger laid this egg in January 2005. We blew the egg out & coated it with clear glue after this photo.

This gif shows the egg from all sides. You can see some of the egg white leaking through a thin spot of the egg.

This egg was laid on March 22nd, 2005. It was in the coop with 2 other normal eggs, so we don’t know if the egg was laid by Ginger, Angel or Roxy.

This egg was laid on April 22, 2006. The shell didn’t calcify to any significant extent, so the shell was mostly rubbery membrane. (Time for me to brake up more oyster shell and spread it about for the chickens to eat.) I shined a flashlight through the egg for this photo.

By April 29, the April 22 egg had a fair amount of the water in it evaporate out through the shell.
