: Got some new images of my Dark Eldar and have added them . I am also going to start and work diligently on my Warhammer armies. With all the focus on 40k and Armageddo-con the last little while I now want to change my direction and go back to one of my favorite games, Warhammer. I started playing it when the 4th edition came out just after Milton Bradley put out Battle Masters which is really what got me started into Fantasy Battles. My first armies were derived from all the mini's that came in Battle Masters, Empire, Chaos and Orcs & Goblins. Skaven was also another of my first fantasy armies since I had all the mini's from Advanced Heroquest which focused a lot on Skaven scenarios. So you will definetly see plenty of more Warhammer images soon. Updated Mar.19/02 : Well my good friend John Oliver has put together his own webpage, so I have put a link above for all to check out. Expect some really good stuff there so check it out often. Updated March, 29/02: I have added some more commentaries on the 40k Tyranid page and also the Imperial Gothic fleet page. and added a page to showcase other players armies. Anyone else who would like to add some images of their mini's let me know and we'll get them up for display. Updated April, 13/02 : Added a Lord of the Rings page with images of my modular terrain and some of the miniatures I have painted up from the main box set. Updated April, 14/02 : Added more new images on the 40K Tyranid page, this should almost complete them, I still have a Hive Tyrant with wings to paint up. Also added the Necron fleet on the Gothic page. I also added lots of new images of the Eldar fleet. Updated April 22/02 : Updated all the Epic pages with lots of new images and added some of my 40k Tau models in progress on the 40K page. Updated May 26/02 : Added some images of Kieran Dunleavy's Lord of the Rings Miniatures. Updates May 30/02 : Added more images on the Epic Tyranid page. Updated June 3/02 : Added a Rumors Page Updated June 9/02 : More images on the Lord of the Rings page. Updated July 20/02 : Sorry for the lack of updates, but with the summer and all kinds of other activities I haven't had a chance to do much to my web site. I have finished my Necrons, at least upto this point and have enjoyed a few games with them. I like the way they play and they are definitely quite different to other 40K armies and as most people know I like variety in my gaming. I have also had lots of games with the new Epic 40K rules and being an official play- tester with my friend Richard makes it even more interesting to help shape the rules. I hope I see lots of new players join in on the Epic games in the future. Soon I will have some images of my Necrons and yes I am still working on my Fantasy armies but the Necrons were just so easy an quick to paint. Updated July 29/02 : I have added the Necrons on the 40K page and the images were taken from my first few battles with them, have a look. Updated Aug. 2/02 : The rumors page has been updated and these images can all be found on the GW website. Updated Sep.23/02 : Well what a month we have had in Calgary. The Grand Tournament was excellent and then we got to enjoy more gaming at Fallcon the annual Gaming convention which is now 15 years in the running. I even got to participate in a game which doesn't happen too often. I played my Necron fleet for the first time and had a blast. I will do a small write up on the games I had and what advise I have for both those who play with and against them. I will post this on my Gothic page. I am also planning on updating some of the images and will post the changes here. Updated Nov.9/02 : Well it just keeps growing, my web site that is. As you can see I have added a few new pages and on each I hope to add images and fluff of these other specialist games as they are called. I have cleaned up and touched up some of the old figs, gotten a few images and displayed them. Eventually I will add roster and gang lists that I have used in the past for these games and hope that more interest in these awesome games will flourish. Updated Dec.8/02 : I have added some images of my Tau warriors on the 40k page. Updated Apr. 5/03 : Boy it's been a while since I made an update and that is due too having a lot of other projects on the go. Armageddo-con 2 kept me busy with all the preperations and Magicon 2 is just around the corner. But I have added a Hero Quest page which I will be working on for the next little while. Right around Christmas time I starting getting back into this game that started me into this hobby, and have since started to play again, collect and paint the figs for it. I am also working on my Tomb Kings, finishing my Eldar and some other armies. So I will try and have a few new things up soon and up- date a little more regular. I will be adding something to the Inquisitor page as soon as I finish a couple of the models, about 4 are 60% complete, so must get crackin'. Updated May 6/03 : Just a quick update, both RTT's, Armageddo-con 2 aand Magicon 2 were a great success. Good turnouts and great attitudes by all players amde it a joy to run these events. I have also added a link to an Epic Armageddon battle report played by myself and Richard Desnoyer. Images are courtesy me and the rest was done by Richard. Looks really impressive, hopefully we can get this in print or even on the GW website, have a look just go to the Epic link abaove. Updated May 18/03 : Added a few more new images of my Necron army on the 40K page, just finishing up the Flayed Ones and the army is all done. Updated Aug. 18/03 : An update?!!!! Yep it has been a while, but I have been a very busy person. I have done lots of work on some of my armies and hope to add some new images soon. I have also been very busy playing and collecting numerous boardgames, and although not GW related some of those games are just fantastic. If anyone is interested to see my collection of games please check out my huge collection at boardgamegeek.com. I 'll add the link here at ROBERIOUS COLLECTION. Today is also my birthday and I went for an awesome hike with my Epic and Warmaster sparring budy Richard who's website I have a link too. I picked up the latest coo, new game from Hasbro called Battle Ball which is definetly a take off from Bllodbowl but has simple rules and Hero Clix type already painted figs check out the game at Boardgamegeek.com. Updated Sep.27/03 Just a quick update to say I am still here, just haven't had a chance to add anything lately. I have been painting lots of minis and running several large events and tournaments. So been busy and will try and add a few things soon. Updated Nov.9/03 : Got to get my camera out again and take some images of all the stuff I have been working on such as the Tau for 40K, my Tomb Kings, also just picked up the really cool new Tau ships for Battle Fleet Gothic so will get busy painting them and last but not least the new Lord of the Rings, Return of the King minis. Lool for updates soon, I promise :) Updated Dec.23/03 : Added some images of my Necron Shrouds on the Necron Gothic page. Updated Jan.4/04 : I have added a link to a page with the miniatures I painted for Hybrid the Boardgame from Rackham the the same people that put out Confrontation. The game is excellent, similar to Space Hulk and a bit like Warhammer Quest. The components are very well done and the miniatures are fantastic. Please check out the models and there is also a Yahoo group deticated to the game. Another thing I should mention here is that I have made a Yahoo Group designed exclusively for all things GW in Calgary please go to the LINK to join up and check out the latest updates and news. Updated Jan.18/04 : I have added a few new images to both the Hero Quest page and the Wood Elf page (follow theWarhammer link above). Updated Feb.2/04 : I have added a short description of the Hybrid Board game on the Hybrid page. Updated Mar.7/04 : Since Epic Armageddon is now available I am updating the Epic page with some new thoughts and a review. The game is excellent and although I was a huge Epic 40,000 fan the new version is refreshing and has a much better playing style with a lot more detail. Hats off to Jervis Johnson for a great job on one of my favorite games. Updated May 25/04 : Added some new images to the Hybrid page, mainly the new Nemesis Clone and a few of the other minis that are available from the Rackham product line. The new expansion Nemesis for Hybrid is awesome an excellent addition to an already fantastic game. Updated June 6/04 : Again I have added some more images on the Hybrid page along with a small battle report from one of the scenarios we played recently. I am also putting together a page for Warhammer Quest one of my favorite Dungeon exploring games. Since I have most of the minis for the game painted I thought I would display them and since we have been playing again maybe I can add more features and ideas. Updated June 18/04 : I added some images of my Warhammer Quest figures on that page and am working on finishing some more Hybrid models along with another battle report. Updated Aug. 22/04 : Just adding links here from Gencon and some of the great new games coming out soon. Doom the Boardgame looks really cool. Gencon 1 Gencon 2 Gencon 3 Updated Sep. 06/04 : Updated the 40K page with my thoughts on the new 4th edition Rules. Updated Feb. 5/05 : First update of the new year. I basically have taken a break from painting miniatures for a while now but the urge is returning. Just need to decide which projects I want to work on., I picked up my copy of Rag'narok which is the rules from Rackham to play large battles with their Confrontation minis. So far the rules and background are excellent and I look forward to my first game. I will need to paint up a few more of the minis though so that will be one project. We have been playing lost of games though even Man O' War last week and always a game of 40K. Lots of board games including Doom the Boardgame, War of the Ring and Settlers of Catan and expansions. I'll be back with more. Updated Mar.12/05 : What's new lately?, well I have started painting again after a long break. Not from playing mind you! We have had lots of games of 40K, Warmaster, Epic and many boardgames especially Twilight Imperium 3 by Fantasy Flight. This is definitely the best space conquest, political and building game which takes hours to play but is well worth the time. Presently I am painting my Eldar for Epic, Gothic Tau and Tyranid fleets and the new Battle of Five Armies game designed by Rick Preistley. The game is essentially Warmaster but in the Lord of the Rings world. Excellent plastic minis and lots of stuff in the box set. So as soon as I get some minis finished I will post some new images. Also I am trying to add more figs to my Hybrid collection and these will of course become my armies for Rag'narok, by Rackham. Updated Mar.20/05 : Just needed to add the fact that I am also painting Lizardmen for Warmaster. We recently played a game of Epic with new Titan Legion list from the Epic web site. It's was a cool game and impressive just using Warlord, Reaver and Warhound Titans along with Knights. I also am adding here a link to Gama Game Trade show especially for Fantasy Flights upcoming releases, check them out : GAMA Updated May 1/05 : With preparations for Armageddo-con 4 some of my painting projects are on hold but I do still manage to apply a little paint to some of my minis once in a while. Just picked up Starship Troopers by Mongoose publishing designed by Andy Chambers. I am just looking through the rules and it looks ok so far. I will put the bugs and marines together once I get some time and will give the game a whirl. I also primered up the Robogear minis, a really cool game made in Russia with the best plastic model kits I have seen yet. This game uses real firing with spring loaded mechanisms to launch small rockets and actually knock down your opponents vehicles. Have a look here at this link at boardgamegeek, http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/14398 Updated May 16/05 : I have added a page of work in Progress to show that I am definitely painting but not quite finished. I will update regularly. Updated June 3/05 : Descent the Boardame, check out the link to the homage from Fantasy Flight Games: http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/descent.html Updated June 7/05 Added more images on my work in progress. Lots on the go, just have to get some of them finished off soon. Updated Oct.14/05 : Nothing all that new at present. I have been playing a lot of board games lately, especially War of the Ring. Gothic has seen a return on the gaming table and with that the Tau fleet is almost done. We have also been trying Confrontation on a regular bases and feel we have the game figured out quite well. Next step is Rag'narok but we'll need to get a few more minis finished before we can get started. I hope to get some images of the most recent finished minis and will try and update a little more. Updated Jan.15/06 : I have added 2 new pages, one for Descent: Journeys in the Dark and Doom the Boardgame both by Fantasy Flight Games. I have been working on these miniatures for a while now and thought I would show some images and other info on these great games. Updated Feb.22/06 : Been working on some new stuff and added my first two Battle groups for Warmachine, Khador and Cygnar. Expect to see plenty more in the near future. Updated May 2/06 : Well I don't have any image updates although I do have lots more minis painted since my last entry. Just not getting around to taking the the pictures but eventually I will. There are of course lots of new games and minis in my collection and I continue to expand my gaming experience almost daily or atleast weekly. The latest items I have acquired are some of the cool new Hordes minis from Privateer Press makers of Warmachine. I really like the look of these figs and the game, although very similar to Warmachine, looks great. Actually you can use both systems together so Monsters fighting metal machines. I am in the process of painting the Trollbloods and Legion of Everblight but I can easily see me getting all 4 factions down the road. I am also still working on more minis for both Cygnar and Khador for Warmachine. Lately I have been running intros for Warmachine at the Sentry Box and intend on including Hordes. I am always adding more Confrontaion figs to the collection and updating my Tyranids and Tau for 40K. Along with the tabletop games we are also playing our weekly games which include, Warcraft the Boardgame, Fury of Dracula, Arkham Horror, Descent, Hero Quest, Hybrid, Runebound, Heroscape, Celtica, Caracassonne, Settlers of Catan 3D and many more. Updated June 6/06 : Finally added some images on the Hybrid page (2) of my Centurus Clones. Still diligently working on Hordes, Warmachine and my Lizardmen for Warmaster. This Saturday is Magicon 5 so I am busy preparing for the event, should be a descent turnout. Last week I went to Games Day in Toronto and had a blast running the Warhammer Mega Battle. Updated July 28/06: So what have I been doing lately? Well on my gaming (and painting table) are the new Hive Tyrants and Carnifex's. Also adding more to my Confrontation and Warmachine/Hordes collection. Actually why don't I just post an image of all this stuff: Music I have been enjoying lately is Eidolon, a Canadian Progressive Metal band with the vocalist from Pagans Mind, pretty good stuff. cloudscape, this band I really like and her is a video clip of one of their songs Deamon Tears . Lemur Voice, a band that actually split up in 2000 but this has to be my favorite Dutch Prog/Metal band, excellent stuff. Kiko Loureiro a guitarist from Brazil, plays fast and clean. Updated Oct.18/06 : Finally an image update the Nefarius clone for Hybrid/Confrontation on the front page and on the Hybrid page. Updated Nov.12/06 :Well another miniature game has crept into my collection. Although I have had the Rulebook for Wargods of Eagytus for quite some time it wasn't till the Wendigos came along that I decided to delv deeper into the game. I have since picked up several models and will be building up a sizable force. Have a look at the minis on Crocodile Games.com. Updated Dec.2/06 : Well Christmas isn't far off and I am finished my events for the year. It's been a fun year for gaming up till now and I intend on getting lots of games in over the holidays plus painting some fig's. I'll be working on my Beastmen for Warhammer, Eldar for both 40K and Epic, Wendigos for Wargods, Trollbloods for Hordes and several other projects. If I set my mind to it I can get a lot done and that's my intention. Of course I will post the finished results here. I would also love to update this web site with some new software and if anyone has any good ideas please advise me. In the meantime have fun gaming. Updated Dec.5/06 : Wow another update already, well it's because the rules for the expansion to one of my favorite board games is on line: Shattered Empire for Twilight Imperium 3 check it out : http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/PDF/TI3_SE_Rules.pdf Updated Dec.17/06: Recently I made an Excel Reference Sheet for my Epic Tyranids well I have placed it on the Epic page and here it is also, Tyranid Reference Sheet Updated Dec.24/06 : Merry Christmas everyone and I have added a Hordes page with my Dire Troll, a bit of step by step on how I painted him. Hordes. Updated Jan. 15/07 : So first update of the new year. Christmas was excellent, got a new Guitar which I ended up trading for a Fender Strat, nice. Also played lots of games over the Holidays, especially Battlelore an excellent game from Days of Wonder, similar to Memoir 44 but better with tons of potential for expansions. Have been painting lots, Beastmen for Warhammer, Wendigos for Wargods, Trollbloods for Hordes. I already posted an image of the Dire Troll and almost finished the Dire Troll extreme sculpt, huge mini really cool looking. I also started another Yahoo group for other miniature games besides GW which you can find HERE. Looking forward to lots of new games this year and finishing lots of projects and eventually updating this web site. RK Updated Feb. 5/07 : Added images, Tyranid Hive Tyrant with wings on the Tyranid page: Finished Nefarius Clone on the Hybrid page: Man O War unit on the Warmachine page: Troll and Extreme Troll finished on the Hordes page. 95% done my beastmen so will post an image soon along with my Trollbloods warband and my Tombkings should be done soon thanks to the inspiration from Ray Jensen who did an awesome job on his army. Updated Feb.17/07 :
The updates just keep coming, I added images of some of my Space Wolves
on the Space Marines page, follow the 40K link being released by FFG again including, Android, which apperently uses some unique new mechanics and is basically a who done it investigating game in the future with many twists and loads of rules. Also a new version of Cosmic Encounter and also a re-release of Talisman 4th edition and an expansion. Also we've been playing a lot of Battlestar Galactica, and awesome semi cooperative game and being a fan of the shows certainly helps to make it very appealing. Another game that I am looking forward to is Conan, designed by the same developers who made War of the Ring, so this should be a great strategy game. Finally an expansion for one my favorite FFG, Blizzard games, Starcraft: Broodwars. Of course there are also lots of new games from Rio Grande, Z-Man, Asmodee and many Euro games as well. Basically to many to get cause it will be hard to find the time to play them all let alone the cost to acquire them. Still playing plenty of 40K, Warhammer, Epic (Tyranids), AT-43 and what ever else I can fit in. So with the Holidays fast approaching I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and fantastic New Year. Regards, Robert Updated Dec.21/08 : Just want to say to all have a wonderful Christmas and fantastic New Year. Hope you get lot's of new toys/games under the tree. See you all in 2009 and let's hope it's a great year for all of us. Regards Robert Kuster Updated Jan.25/09 : And a new year starts again with lots of new games, minis and changes in the economic climate. It's amazing how this downturn is actually affecting the whole world so once it starts to bounce back it should be everyone who gets affected as well. I do believe that there will be more gaming in the start of this year then there has been in others and that's because when people are cautious with their spending they turn to activities that don't cost quite as much and gaming certainly is fairly affordable compared to travelling, skiing and those types of things. We have been playing a lot of games and I am also working hard on my painting projects. The new Lizardmen will be my next venture, I have always wanted to start this army but now with all the new plastics it's much easier to throw one together and they are a rock hard Warhammer army, and easy to paint, for me. I hope everyone is doing well and also playing lots, see you at the games table. Updated Mar.8/09 : Well here we are and it's March already, wow the year is moving along quickly. Still working on several projects and making some progress with my Wood Elves and Epic Eldar. Getting lots of play time in and picked up lots of new games, Conan, Name of the Rose and many more. Some events coming up including Calcon and the Comic convention, I will be at both running some GW demos. See you all at the gaming table soon. Updated Mar.30/09 : Finally some images updates, added the Eldar on my Epic page and will be finishing more of the army soon. Updated April 26/09 : Not a whole lot of news, just ran some demo's at the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo this weekend and what a turn out it was packed and even the games room, although well out of the way from the main hall, had lots of action. I think they are going to have to move to even a larger venue next year. I got to meet Edward Olsom, Admiral Adama from Battlestar Galactica, fantastic show IMO and he was a very easy going guy, very nice to talk too. I still plan on attending Games Day in June and otherwise continue to play lots of new games, most recently Le Havre, Eve Conquests and Small World all really great games. Of course still getting in lots of games of Epic, 40K and Warahmmer. Oh I just love my hobby. Updated May 18/09 : So far it's been a great month for gaming, just yesterday we played a 6,000 point Epic game, my Tyranids vs John's Imperial Gaurd. It was a fantastic game, lasted about 6 hours and a marginal victory for the Nids. I painted up the Vituperator and a second Heirophant plus rebased the larger models, I will post some new images of these soon on the Epic Tyranid page. Also playing lots of new board games such as Eve- Conquest based on the online game and is quite good. An area control game with great production value and nice game mechanics. Still working on all my miniature projects and making some headway on the Eldar, Orks and High Elves. Updated May 30/09 : Yes another update in the same month but this is mainly because of a new release from Fantasy Flight, Chaos in the Old World. A new board game based on the deamons of the Old World in Warhammer and with this game FFG endeavors on a road of GW unique products. Now I noticed that it's also related to Warhammer Online and they advertise the link between them so the game does have a duel purpose, for FFG to start producing boardgames and plastic playing pieces (not miniatures) set in the GW world and to advertise for the gaming giant. To me it all looks good, I get even more product and gaming stuff for my favorite hobby, cool. Updated June 19/09 : Added new images of the Tyranid Bio-titans on the Epic page. Otherwise keeping busy playing Epic, Gothic and lots of boardgames. Updated Agust 14/09 : Well the summer is quickly fading already here in Calgary, cold wet and not a whole lot of sunny warm days, hopefully the fall will be better. Haven't worked on any projects at all lately but still playing lots, mostly board games and occassional mini game. Just getting Octocon 4 all organized and looking forward to Fallcon in September. Update on upcoming games again from Fantasy Flight, they are re-releasing Chaos Marauders an old game from GW, updating Warhammer Fantasy RPG to a whole new system which I am looking forward to and the new edition of Warhammer card game (Warcry) into a LCG. The future looks bright with lots of new games to play and maybe I'll even get back to painting some figs again! Updated Oct.3/09 : Hello everyone it's been a month and a half since my last update and fall is upon us. Had a good summer and hope everyone else did as well. Been working on getting the new Space Hulk figs painted and played the game a few times already. I played second edition quite a bit and really like the game, this new edition is not much different and incorporates many of the first edition rules which I never got to play. I did have the opportunity but I was more into the fantasy side of GW at the time, mainly Advanced Hero Quest, Warhammer Man O War. I will put up images of the finished models soon along with a layout of the board which I black line with marker, it looks better to me that way. I also finally get to take out the old case with the Space Wolves int them. I actually haven't used the models since second edtion 40K because I wanted to wait for a full codex for the army. I may have played a quick game with the small add on Codex once but found it unsatisfying at the time. Also many new board games as well like Endeavor, Middle Earth Quest, Ad Astra, Chaos in the Old World and lots more. Octocon 4 is right around the corner and looks like we'll fill up the spots for the event. Other that I have also been listening to some great new music and I have added links to the band web sites above. Happy gaming till next time. Updated Nov.6/09 : So the winter is approaching a good time for more indoor activities like painting figs and playing games something I can't get enough of. The newest game of interest for me is Runewars from you guessed it FFG, this is a retake on Battlemist a very interesting game developed a while back by Christian Peterson and quite a good game I might add. A hex board game with resource management, army building, conquest and hero adventuring. It incorporated a lot of elements but could be a long game and used chits for the most part, no mini's. Now Cory is at the helm of the remake and it just looks fantastic I sure hope it comes out before Christmas. Have a look on the web page and you'll see the quality of the production value and get some insight into the mechanics as well. Otherwise I have been finishing the Space Hulk models and I will try and get some images up soon, also the Wood Elves and Tyranids are getting some attention. Happy gaming. Updated Nov.22/09 : Kind of exited about many of the new game releases coming out soon like Runewars mentioned above, Stronghold, Dungeon Lords and for mini's the new Tyranid codex in January and the Beastmen army book in February. Both armies are real favorites of mine and needed updated rules badly. Of course there will be all kinds of new models that will need painting but I also enjoy doing that with both armies as well. Looking forward to a nice Christmas and I plan on playing lots of new games over the holidays. Till soon, happy gaming. Updated Dec.13/09 : All I can say is wow and fantastic, FFG is going to release a new version of Horus Heresy an excellent game designed originally by Jervis Johnson and one that I played many times along with the other 2 in the series, Battle for Armegaddon and Doom of the Eldar. This new version looks awesome, have a look here and it sounds like they redone some of the rules, added scenarios and eliminated dice for the combat system and using cards instead. I am really looking forward to this release and also many other great games coming out soon. The new Tyranids look smokin and being a huge fan of the army it will be a real treat once these come out in the new year. Hope everyone has a great Christmas and New year and see you in 2010 with lots more gaming. Robert |
