"Girls' Best Friend" 97x80" (Queen size) $500.00 (Cndn)
.
This is me fooling around with diamonds. The sashing would have been easier to have it run right through, but I wanted the side points on the diamonds to veer away from each other. Made for some fun when putting the repeatable blocks together!!
The colours are green (two tone on tone green prints) and a Peter Pan pink print. (The border pink is also in on the centre small white looking one) White and black sashing with a dark green outside border.)
The rest of the items on this page are items that I have made and if any strike your fancy, I could make a similar one, ......... otherwise just enjoy the Gallery.
They are "thumbnail" so click for the bigger picture.

"Celestial Stars" (Queen size)
.
Good friend of mine has a daughter Nikki who was especially enamoured with the light aqua fabric and asked if I could make her something for her. The "Milky Way" fabric came from a number of quilters, who all belonged to a fat quarter fabric club at the time and thus had only a fat 1/4 each.
The pattern is "Starry Night" from Quiltmaker magazine (issue 34) expanded to Queen size.
.
"Ocean Waves"
.
This one is a Double size, made for a niece (by request).
It has Dolphin fabric centre squares with aqua contrast.
.
.
"Deanna's Sampler"
.
This is my first full size quilt. A sampler made using all the colours in my daughters room at the time.
.
"Stars and Crosses"
.
This quilt was donated to help with the 'fire relief effort in the BC interior
Wanted to see what would happen if the 'feature fabric' on a quilt was left pretty much on it's own.
Unfortunately, the fabric doesn't show up well on the scan.
.
"Fit for a King"
.
Our Guild's first Show saw this quilt take "Viewers Choice". And second prize at the PNE.
Took me a full two days to come up with the seven fabrics for the "Hidden Wells" pattern quilt, wasn't happy with any
combination till I happened to try the 'waves' fabric with the blue, purple and green in it, ..... kinda gave it life!
There is a story behind the name for the quilt, ..... but I won't get into that for now.
.
"Flowerbasket" Queen size.
.
The "Icy Blue" was only available in velour at the time so I ironed on some fusible cotton on the back of the velour to give it some "body"
so I could work with it. Stipple quilted the velour part, so it ain't never going to distort. It was a present for a 10th wedding anniversary.

Back to some stuff for the wall
"Hidden Wells" (40 by 40)
.
The "Ocean Waves" on the bed with this "Hidden Wells" for the wall.
The same dolphin, and aqua fabrics used on both.
.
"Triad Sampler"
.
(Triad Interlock by Marilyn Doheny)
This one was a lot of fun to do.
.
"Lone Texas Star"
.
Used only my own dyed fabrics on this one
.
"Baby Irish Chain"(44x64")
.
When I make a 'baby' quilt I always make it big enough so that baby can be tucked in.
I remember when the kids got uncovered they would get cold, wake up and....... well, you know the rest!
As usual for my Irish Chains, the fabric in the centre of the chain is different on one slant from the other.
.
"Girls Kwillow"
.
Have made quite a few of these, this is one
made for someone of the female gender.
.
.
"Jack's Fabric Stash"
.
This is my private stash of fabrics. There is about two shelves of home-dyed fabrics, consisting of 8 gradations of 48 different colours.
( Bought a roll (250 yards) of white on white Marcus Bros. fabric, ripped it up into 1/2 meter pieces and began dyeing.
Took some 2 weeks, 18-20 hours a day, but now only have to replace the ones I use up.) (Procion dye used)
