Founder of the Society of Tilt and Lance Cavalry,
Radar is an EMT in Calgary and a long time fire fighter. She also has earned a degree in archaeology. In
her spare time she collects rescue horses, most of which compete in games and the joust.
In the spring of 2003, Radar trained with Roy and Kate
Cox of the Freelancers and performed at a number of Renaissance Faires
in the U.S. She learned a number of groundfighting techniques in addition
to riding in the daily jousting competition. She was "knighted"
by King Henry VIII and Queen Anne Boleyn at Scarborough
Faire in Waxahachie, Texas in May 2003 and has been jousting ever since. From BC to Ontario, Botha to Waxahachie, she has broken lances and bones and not lost her competitive spirit!

Radar trivia: Spent half of the Stampede tournament not knowing that someone had written "Single & Looking" on the back of her armour.
Established jouster who made a name for himself internationally at the Longs Peak Scottish/Irish Festival tournament in Estes Park Colorado in 2008. Greg has been competing and participating in shows since 2006 and has established himself as a strong competitor, and truly honourable knight, once driving nineteen hours on short notice to substitute for a wounded comrade.
Greg is the proprietor of Boxma Percherons, located in Halkirk Alberta. Greg raises and trains foals sired by his main jousting horse, Deathstar. While Jousting is his main focus, Greg trains his horses to be versatile, able to ride and drive. Several are currently for sale (see our Horse Section).
Look for his trademark grin after the joust, win lose, or draw.
Greg trivia: his secret weapon is his training partner, his sister! (She is deadly with a grain shovel)
Greg’s Horses: Deathstar, Beauty, Goliath
Leslie has been crazy about horses since birth, according to her mother. She is a bold and confident professional rider ,and an accomplished horsewoman . Her interest in history led her to take up jousting, which she sometimes refers to as “Hinky”. (You will have to ask her for the definition.)
Leslie completed her Squire Year in 2006, and has been jousting ever since, from Moose Jaw Saskatchewan to Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She took some time off create a very special project (her son, Scott), and returned to jousting in 2009.
Leslie trivia: She and husband James share more than just son Scott. They have a suit of armour between them, which is why they will never tilt against each other.
James jousts in both Heavy Armour (Plate armour)and Light Armour (Chainmail and shield) styles, and is known to be a heavy hitter in both. He has jousted in Estes Park at the Longs Peak Scottish/Irish Festival and at Strathmore Heritage Days. He is deadly with a spear from horseback, and does exceptionally well at any mounted target-games that he competes in. He is suspected to be already teaching son Scott some tricks of the trade.
James Trivia: His knightly training in upholding the good and defending the oppressed is soon to be reflected in his "real" job.

Hailing from Leeds, William started training hard in 2009 and looked forward to his rookie year and debut at the 2010 BC Renfest. He went on to joust at the Brooks Medieval Faire as well as other local shows.

Steve competed in tournaments on his horse Lucy,
a Clydesdale/Percheron cross. He did STALC proud in 2005, his first
season, competing in 3 tournaments; Dragon's Lair in London,
Ontario, the Sheridan Hughes Memorial Tournament in Calgary, Alberta,
and the Maryland Renaissance Tournament. In all three
of these tournaments, he finished in the top 10. In 2006, he jousted in Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Tennessee.

Shawn's rookie year as a jouster was 2008, where both he and his mare, Tyrea debuted for STALC in Winnipeg, and rode at the BC Renfest and in Estes Park competing in both the Heavy Armour and Light armour divisions. In his first year his toughest challenge was getting his lines right for a TV segment on the early morning show in BC!
Sadly, 2009 brought greater challenges and in March of 2010 STALC lost a fierce competor, great warrior and good friend.
Missed by all, his legacy shines through in everyone who doesn't give up no matter what challenges are handed to them.
