Surrey has a population of 292,000 people, and is located on the South-East shores of the Fraser River. The area was first settled in 1861, and by 1879 there were 1000 residents in this area.

Today Surrey incorporates five townships including Walley, Guilford, South Surrey, Newton and Cloverdale.
