The snow moved back in for our last full day. Five headed down Bluewater Creek to check out a north facing area we hadn't got to on day2, unfortunately Ena injured her leg on the way down. She made it back to the chalet OK, but back in Calgary two days later it turned out to be a fractured fibula. The rest spread out in the lightly treed terrain at the head of Bluewater Creek. Here's John Davies in the murk.
The visibility came and went all day. Many fine runs in great snow were enjoyed by the 6 who stayed out all afternoon exploring new lines. We dubbed this area "Ladies Last Chance" as it contained the last few trees in the alpine basin below the Dome. A ray of sun peeked out towards the chalet as we prepared for our final descent.
Carol skiing one of the days many fine lines, on our last run.
The snow continued all evening, adding 15cm's to what had fallen during the day, and then obliged us by clearing overnight. It was good weather for the heli out, and even better for skiing! We all had powder fever but first there were chores: pack up all our stuff, clean out the chalet for the next group, and ski pack the helipad. By 10 we were on our way up the "Big Easy" with 3 hours of skiing left.
The "Big Easy" is a 180m high slope that is a short commute from the lodge, which is visible to the right and below of center.
Everything fell into place for a memorable last morning, the pictures say it all. Here's retro Barb, note the bamboo poles!
Larry went zipping by, followed by:
John Davies, with the trees of "Ladies Last Chance" showing in the background.
Getting ready for another superb run.

Here's Barb again,
and John.
So that's all, it's time to fly out. Someone captured us at the top of the Big Easy before our last run. Another great week in the backcountry comes to an end, thanks to everybody who made it so much fun.
