The Band: The Dorymates were formed by Larry Skinner back in 1995
when he performed as a 2 piece for Newfoundlanders all over Calgary.
They quickly grew to a 5 piece and was soon playing all over Western
Canada. They opened for many impressive acts such as, The Punters,
Kilt, Valdy and the award winning Fables. Now a 4 piece and new blood,
The Dorymates are still playing Bars and Clubs wherever fine Maritime
brews are poured. They came to Calgary to work and raise their children. Their idea was to promote Newfoundland and its Culture through their music while entertaining in Calgary and surrounding area.
Their selection of music includes Newfoundland, Irish, Maritime, Country and Country Rock. Their years in the entertainment business enables them to offer a wide selection of songs and frolic.
