A Touch of Sadness
Thursday June 26, 2008. Some time between 4:00 am and 7:00 am. After spending most of the previous day at the hospital, we thought we knew what to expect. The thought of losing a baby is tough...especially when you're coming up on 12 weeks and you think you're going to be past the most dangerous period. Sometimes, it is just not meant to be. We certainly were not prepared for the night we had...no one *really* tells you what you're going to face. Thank goodness we could call on our support.

Hello Alex!
Tuesday June 24, 2008. 4:45 am. Donald and Carla welcomed Alex Georgia into the world. I find that babies look pretty funny when they come into the world, but you could tell that Alex was a cutie. And that hair! As all good uncles should do, I'm saving up my pennies for a drum set.

Off to Saskatchewan
Eater Weekend and time for a road trip. Off to Saskatchewan...again. This time we packed upthe dog and drove toward Zealandia to visit Carrie, Al and their kids Payton and Riland. Instead of taking the more usual drive through Lloydminster and the Battlefords, we took a more scenic route using Highways 13 and 14 through Provost. Some random thoughts:
- Time on the farm always seems to do Charlene good
- There were an astonished 9 girls for every guy at the Saskatoon Hot Rod Show...really...ok, not really
- While, durum climbing was pretty fun, durum gum worked pretty good but wasn't that flavourful
- What does it mean when a 4-year old kid pats you on the stomach and walks away?
- I've gotta get me a remote controlled helicopter
- My ringtone idea might just have some traction

The Big Move
The day finally came...time to move on out. Goodbye Cloverdale, Hello Rio Terrace. Moved the office on the weekend of Nov 17. Moved everything else Nov 24. Still can't reconcile how someone so little...living in such a little place could have so much stuff. And this was *after* Marilyn had went through pruned Charlene's stuff.
Thank goodness we had a good supply of free labour. We'll have to thank our help more appropriately once the renos are done.

Happy Earth Day
Apr 22 - Earth Day with the Jansens. It was great to head out towards the Terwillegar-end of town food and company. Radar was a hit - the twins were especially curious about the creature roaming through their back yard. The food, as always, was great...even if it was all vegetarian ;-).

It was a good day
Some time around 9:45 pm and 10:00 pm while we were skiing around the lake at the Jasper Park Lodge, it seemed like it was time. It seemed fitting as we've shared some special moments out there. I guess one could say it was a good day. We even got to bask for about 90 minutes before the planning started.

Ride of Hope BBQ
Jun 11 - Ride of Hope BBQ at Lake Isle. It's always nice to spend time with the Benfords. They have this amazing ability to help me remember what's important in life. Other things:
- It was good to catch Michelle before she heads out to Kimberly
- Gerry's fireworks display was very impressive, but we may have created a monster
- The night time firedancing was very cool

Anna's 40th birthday

New Year's Eve
Dec 31 - New Year's Eve. Some dinner, and perhaps a visit or two? They say the how you spend New Year's Eve is how you spend the rest of your year. I guess my year involves a lot of guitar playing and singing with friends.
