Computer Expertise
System Administrator - Client Support
System infrastructure services, configuration and troubleshooting:
- Microsoft Windows Server with configurations of any of DHCP, DNS, WINS, Proxy, Firewall, Fax, File and Printer sharing, Backup, and Exchange server.
- Microsoft Windows Clients with Domain or Peer to Peer network systems including Exchange/Outlook client, Firewall Internet client, SQL database client, fax service client, and network print or file share client.
- Technical help-desk support services for Microsoft Windows plus some Macintosh
System install, backups, re-builds, optimizing, and troubleshooting for:
- Microsoft Windows server and workstation for system software
- Microsoft Office 95 to 2000 and other Windows applications
- Company Data files, personal workstation configuration, and working template files.
Network Administrator - LAN / WAN Support
Network infrastructure services, configuration and troubleshooting:
- Configure and maintain backbone link node router (Nortel / Bay)
- Configure and maintain backbone core / edge switch (Fore -ATM)
- Provision and manage ATM PVC circuits supplying Internet connectivity
- Install, configure, and manage network router and switch for 10/100 Ethernet and ATM
- Configure network client and server for all Microsoft Windows systems
- Install network interface systems including 10/100 Ethernet and ATM 25/oc3
- Implement shared Internet access via multiple Firewall and Proxy service applications configured for Server and Clients to Modem, ISDN, and Wave cable for Exchange clients and all Internet services
Integrator
Configure and troubleshoot IRQ, I/O, and DMA conflicts for:
- Systems from 386 to Pentium IV, and DEC Alpha
- With I/O devices including ISA, VL-Bus, PCI, AGP, and SCSI
Project management
Planning information Systems:
- analyze a clients' existing computer and information management systems to determine elements that may require improvement or upgrade
- define systems process and amendments required, determine critical path timeline, and develop cost analysis
- negotiate implementation of action plan and develop understanding of efficiencies and limitations
- execute action plan and resolve timeline corrections as they progress
- administer server and client systems to ensure continued efficient information management at client locations
Planning for Disaster recovery management maintenance and loss:
- develop, implement, and operate disaster recovery plans for complete information security
- including local networks ranging from ten to 150 workstations and involving multi-million dollar corporate assets and data
Liaison to create cooperative relationships:
- develop communications with clients and their staff in defining needs and analyzing results attained
- develop communications with associated support professionals in trouble-shooting systems
Quality control for managed resolution:
- analyze performance of completed information systems including impressions and reactions of clients
- create, implement and maintain a knowledge base describing systems technologies and an understanding there of
- determine required actions to improve or secure superior performance of information systems
