Rover Planning Meeting, March 8, 2012

Up Coming Events

  • Coyote Meeting – 10am, 1st Douglas Scout Hall
  • GVA BP Dinner – Volunteers needed to help with the silent auction and 50/50 draw
  • Della Falls- Please reply to Amanda’s email about what days of the week work best for you to come to a meeting (Probably at Scouter Jim’s in Belmont Park) If you’re interested. We will be trying to determine the dates, so if you’re at all interested, please try to come to this meeting. Date forth-coming, once we get a couple people saying what days work. (So far, Wednesday or Friday seem to be the options)
  • March 17 – Scouter Mike is still looking for some volunteers to help serve at the Grand Dinner for the WB2 at Camp Barnard, Saturday the 17th. You will be fed, come in uniform.
  • March 18 – Canoeing with Scouts at Sooke flats (Sooke River Campsites) for those interested in Della Falls.
  • April 7 – Hike! Kinsol Trestle, planned by Grant. Also Scoutrees happening same day.
  • Sr Sections/VentOver camp – Inviting other Rovers and Venturers out to link.
    • Grant and Misty taking that on – Investigating locations (China or French beach group site?)
  • Bob Ross painting night – Nat and Brianna to organise for May/June.
  • Amanda is going to talk to Eddie and KC about a potential going-away party at their place for Singstar, and then a non-rover event afterwards.
  • Spring BC Rover Moot – April 27-29 – If you want to go, get yourselves organised.
  • Skeeter – Many interested. We need to find another advisor to take us, Scouter Mike will be out of country. Possibly invite our Venturer and 3rd yr Scouts if they’re 14.
  • May 9 – Billairds! Nat to plan.
  • June __ - bowling!
  • Caving – Misty to organise a trip to Horne Lake Caves in the summer. Details forthcoming.
  • Smart phone Laser Tag - $30 each, talk to Brianna BY TUESDAY, MARCH 13. If we buy enough we get a slight discount.
  • PDP’s – Amanda is still trying to get 180th to come and give the PDP presentation or for them to get her the info to do it herself. This will be presented at the Area level, “soon”.

WORLD MOOT – QC 2013

We need to apply for the national contingent. (Amanda to find paperwork)
