Welcome to the Alberta
Race Car Association's competition and high performance driving
school. 2010 will be the 24th annual anniversary providing an
introduction to sports car road racing and high performance driving
at Race City Motorsport Park. Completion of this course entitles
participants to obtain a road/race license issued by Western
Canadian Motorsports Association (WCMA).
For 2010 we will be including
a complimentary one-year membership in ARCA, a Western Canada
Motorsport Association (WCMA) affiliated club.

Register as early as possible,
each year the school sells out prior to the school date. Spots
are filled on a first come, first served basis. Your acceptance
in the school is not considered complete until the registration
form/payment is received.
Vehicle Information
Convertibles, cabriolets, and open-top cars by any other name
are NOT permitted UNLESS they are equipped with appropriate rollover
protection located DIRECTLY BEHIND both driver and passenger.
Appropriate types of rollover protection include fixed roll bars,
fixed roll cages, and roll bars that deploy automatically in
the event of a collision or rollover.
This school allows NO
pick-up trucks or SUV's (except BMW and Porsche SUV's and SAVs)
Helmet Information
This school allows the following helmets:
Snell 2000 SA, Snell 2000 M, Snell 2005 SA, Snell 2005 M, Snell
2005 K, Snell 2010 SA, Snell 2010 M, Snell 2010 K, Snell 2010
SAH
If you do not have one of these helmets you will be able to rent
one for $10.

The school provides
an introduction to high performance and competition driving on
a road course. We use a combination of classroom, skid-pad exercises
and road-course lapping to provide you a comprehensive 2 day
learning experience. Full race course lapping sessions with in-car
instructors.
Topics covered include:
-Driving with precision - learning the proper line around a track
-Staying in control - managing weight transfer to get the most
from your car
-Braking techniques
-Seating and control operation - how to use the brakes, steering
and throttle
-Applicability for everyday driving
-Race licensing - for those who wish to start road racing

skills and to provide students the opportunity to obtain an amateur
sports car road-racing license.
