you need to get started in rallying or even for getting some
great driving experience to handle difficult conditions on public
roads. The school covers the proper principles of competition

CALGARY TO BUENOS AIRES
ON A MOTORBIKE
|
After almost
a month and a week since his departure from Calgary, AB. Canada,
Jorge Mitre crossed the Argentine border riding his motorbike.
The trip took him throughout the Americas in what can only be
described as a "Bucket List" adventure for any person
who loves riding, driving, traveling or just living life to the
fullest. During this trip Jorge raised funds for UNICEF to help
fight malnutrition in childern in Guatemala. |

JORGE TESTS 3D CAMERAS
ON RALLY CAR
|
A film crew required
the testing of 3 different 3D camera systems for possible use
on an action film. To replicate extreme conditions Jorge was
hired to drive a Rally car equiped with three different types
of cameras. the shoot took four days and it was held at the San
Vicente Mountains near Los Angeles. The crew learned a great
deal from this experience as to what cameras are best applicable
for each type of possible scenario. A chase vehicle was also
part of the shoot, this specialty built alluminum buggy was built
and driven by the same people responsible for all the chase scenes
on batman's movie "The Dark Knight". For more photos...

CALGARY TO BUENOS AIRES
ON A MOTORBIKE
|
Our Friend
JORGE MITRE departed today from Calgary, Alberta, Canada on a
long journey to Buenos Aires Argentina riding a BWM 650 GS motorbike.
He will attempt to do the trip in around 45 days crossing all
of the Americas and try raising funds for UNICEF to help fight
malnutrition in childern in Guatemala. Although Jorge has never
taken a challenge of this magnitude he has done long trips from
Calgary to Alaska and Southern USA. We all wish him a great and
safe trip.
You can follow
his progress through his WEBPAGE which he will be updating
regularly from the road.

TEAM WINS CLASS AT 2007
COCHRANE RALLY2007
|
Jorge and
Chris Dascollas won their class again at the 2007 Cochrane Rally
on very difficult winter conditions. The Rally was run on a day
that saw snow followed by freezing rain which turned the roads
into skating rinks when temperatures droped in the afternoon.
However Jorge enjoys these road conditions; "it is where
Chris and I can excell given the fact we run in the underpowered
Production 3 class, with these icy road conditions, drivers with
powerfull cars loose that advantage and it all comes down to
good driving and experience, something our team does not lack"
The team was so competitive that not only won the P3 class but
also finished in 6th place overall on a field of 25 teams and
ahead of all 9 entered 4WD-turbo cars except for one, even after
a 30 second road penalty after they exited the last service late. |

TEAM WINS CLASS AT 2006
ROCKY MOUNTAIN
|
The father
and son team of Jorge and Chris Dascollas won the P3 class for
2WD Production vehicles under 2000cc at this year's Rocky Mountain
Rally. The pair started with a very competitive time in the first
stage on Friday afternoon but ran into trouble at the end of
the second stage due to a bad ignition coil which resulted in
the Celica's engine running on 3 cylinders. It was not possible
for the team to fix the problem in the following short service
and saw them run the entire two subsequent stages on 3 cylinders
again. This wrecked havoc on their times and standings but on
Saturday, now with all the problems fixed, they ran some very
competitive times which led to winning the Production 3 trophy
against 5 other teams in that same class. In Jorge's words "
we were unlucky to have that engine problem on Friday night but
our main competitor had even bigger problems on Saturday, I guess
its all part of the game" |
