New Brunswick Renovation |
|

A 1950's house with a small unused dining room
This room contains a buffet and table . It also has a closet
and 2 windows.
Next to the dining room is a kitchen with another wood dining
table (below left) for kitchen use. The kids have moved out
and they don’t require 2 dining room tables.
As well the kitchen has no counter on one side of the stove.
The cabinets are in good condition and the clients would
like to keep them.
Storage is excellent but it has a poor work triangle as the
pantry cabinets are orphaned on a side wall
The Plan
| Remove
the dining room walls leaving the headers
in place.
(this will match a header left from
a previous renovation) |
|
|
| Create
a colour scheme that provides warmth and contrasts
with
the living room. |
|
|
| Create
an eating bar that lines up with the pantry
cabinet. |
|
|
| Extend
the cabinets beside the stove.
Improve the lighting.
|
|
|
|
Further enhancement to fireplace. |
|
|
|
End Benefits
- Construction mess avoided as
the walls are plaster
(not drywall) the ceilings
will not have to be redone.
- This job took advantage of
10 year old cabinets .
- No plumbing and little electrical
work is required.
Cost: $250
