I have attended a few parties involving my old University associates and have been struck by the topics of conversation that now permeate the air (they sure have changed!). Since I was sober during both eras, I have a pretty good perspective. Here are a few comparisons (in the form of quotations from each era):

- "Which is the better brand, Molson or Heineken?"
- The Mid-1990s
- "Which is the better brand, Playskool or Fisher-Price?"

- "Excuse me, do you have any Grey Poupon?"

- "Excuse me, you have grey poop on your shoes. Check your baby's diaper."
