A brief description on the pieces on the CD.
The pieces contained on the CD are not intended to
be seen as complete works but as examples of themes. Each one
demonstrates the development of the theme, a variation and an ending.
Each one is unique and has it's own distinct feel.

1.
Hopeful Blues. This is a
happy blues as the name implies. It has a tentative first chorus with
the violin holding back and releasing during the second chorus. I find
this piece has nice motion .
2.
Poppy. Poppy began as a
pop piece but ended as a string quartet. The bass introduces the theme
and ends it as well. It has lots of room for expansion.
3.
Sad Waltz. This one is
from the day your dog dies, you lose your job, the bank
forecloses and your tripod collapses.
4. Cowboy Bob.
This
one is self explanatory. He does gain enlightenment at the end
though.
5. The Truth Behind. I like
the deep mysterious drone of this piece as it offers a good basis to
launch from. I added a Spanish flair with the guitar parts. I find it a
very visual piece.
