Ok Dallas....I hate driving in Dallas. Knowing this about myself, I left the house with plenty of time to account for navigational mishaps. True to form, I got a bit lost. After a few harrowing tries navigating the West End, I made it. We had lots of friends and family there, so I knew it was going to be a fun night. I had some time to kill before the guys arrived, so I visited with Laurie and Bully which is always a pleasure. Bully (Paul), for those of you who don't know, is the new Tech for RTB. He's a great kid and fun to be around. I can tell he loves this gig cause he's always groovin' to the sound.
The Dallas HOB is one of the better venues in the franchise. The sound and equipment is great, the crew is so helpful and it's a clean, well run establishment. The only thing I can say is that for the best sound, don't hang out under the balcony, it's a bit boomy. Out front and up top the sound has so much more clarity.
As for Robin and the band....perfect. One of the jewels is Time and Emotion, from Robin's new CD. Pete and Glen have added their special touch and it's great. It's too bad they haven't had time to work up more from "What Lies Beneath". I'd love to hear "Freefall" or "Skin and Bones".  But the tour is young yet, so you folks further down the line may get that chance.
The rest of the set is brilliant, as always. Like I said about Austin, Robin is pulling out all the stops creatively and having such a good time.  Everyone there was feeding off the good energy, the band and the crowd.
Keep it up folks, you on stage and the fans in the halls. Another great tour is on the march.
After the show we visited with friends and ate some amazing BBQ, (Thanks Dana & Amy). I'm going to try and make another show on the East Coast this fall. Can't wait.
The weather is turning nasty again, tornado season in  Texas so better go turn off the computers.
