Welcome! The Lake Winnipeg Unitarian Congregations consist of two historic liberal churches, the Arborg Unitarian Church and the Gimli Unitarian Church, serving Unitarian Universalists in the towns of Arborg and Riverton and the Municipalities of Bifrost and Gimli, an area commonly known as "New Iceland. At Arborg, our congregation gathers for worship on the first and third Sunday of each month, 11:00 a.m., from mid-September until the end of June. A children's program is offered at the same time. Our Arborg church is located at the corner of Inglolfs Steet and River Road. Parking is available along Ingolfs Street. At Gimli, our summer congregation gathers for worship on the "odd Sundays" of July and August (first, third and fifth) at 11:00 a.m. Our Gimli church is located on Second Avenue just east of Centre Street. There is ample parking in the public lot across the street from the church. Unitarian Universalism affirms that "the marks of true religion are spiritual freedom, enlightened reason, broad and tolerant sympathy, upright character, and unselfish service." We place greater emphasis on working principles rather than doctrines and beliefs. Consequently, Unitarian Universalist congregations around the world are home to liberal Christians, religious humanists, theists and freethinkers. |
