This was the Supplementary Radio System crest until 1977.
|
The Supplementary Radio System was the forerunner of today's
military communications intelligence system. It was a small and
close knit group of personnel who served much of their time in small
and isolated communties such as Masset, Gander, Inuvik, and Alert.
Because of the nature of their work, the members could not talk
much about what they were doing except in each other's company.
This contributed to building a special solidarity that still exists
today. |

We have a page for announcements of interest. Please feel
free to submit any matters of general interest for inclusion on the
announcements page. We will do our best to accomodate your requests.
The Site Attendant will reserve the right to accept
and/or edit any submissions. |

|
Please ensure that any correspondence such as changes of e-mail address,
requests for inclusion in the e-mail listings, or additions and changes to the Remembrance
page are forwarded to both myself and Butch Whitlaw. This is very important as we both
keep databases for different purposes and your cooperation will prevent needless duplication
of effort on our parts. Further, while you can include your e-mail address in the guestbook,
if you want it to be properly maintained, and not possibly lost, please send me an e-mail requesting
inclusion of your e-mail address on the e-mail pages where it properly belongs. Thank You. |

This site is open to any and all persons who have had some affiliation
with the CFSRS/CFIOG and other related operations. It does not matter if you were a 291'er, a tech, a cook, or even an officer! We make
no distinctions here. In one way or another we were a family! The goal of this site is to hold together the social aspect of our little community in order that we can maintain a degree of cameraderie and togetherness, even if it is in Cyberspace! |

"A true
leader must make an honest effort to know his men. When you
command a group
of men, the leader should striveto know them each better than their own mother. The
leader must know which man responds to encouragement, which man responds
to reason and which man needs a good swift kick in the pants."

"A boss creates fear, a leader
confidence. A boss fixes blame, a leader corrects mistakes. A
boss knowsall, a leader asks questions. A
boss makes work drudgery, a leader makes it interesting. A boss is interested in himself
or herself, a leader is interested in the group."
