The Clinic
Acupuncture & Related Equipment
- Needles are sterile and
for one use only.
- Electro-acupuncture is
available for indicated problems.
- 48 hour ear stimulation
seeds are available for indicated problems.
- TDP Infra-red mineral
heat lamp is used when indicated during
acupuncture treatments.
- Modern 'no-heat' cupping
device for chronic pain.
- Tui Na massage for
indicated problems.
- Acupressure can be used
if a patient is not comfortable with
needles.
Herbal Medicine
- Herbal medicine is
prescribed in two forms, pill and granule.
Pill form is easier to take but not always
as effective as the granules. (Depending on
the acuity or chronicity of the problem.)
- Granules are derived from
the raw herbal decoction and dried similar
to instant coffee. This way the essence of
the decoction is maintained.
- Raw herbs, that can be
decocted in a pot are not available at this
clinic. Mostly because they are not as
convenient to prepare as more modern
methods. If a person prefers that way of
taking herbs, a prescription can be made and
the formula may be picked up at a TCM
pharmacy in town.
Diet and Wellness Counselling
- Dietary recommendations
based on both the TCM energetic formula and
modern medical research.
- Help with recommending
exercise plans that fit with your lifestyle.
- Source of referrals for
and/or help in dealing with present coping
patterns that don't seem to be working.
