Cartridge refilling updates

Updated November 28th 2008

HP Photo Value Packs-Not Worth The Money

The idea of value or photo packs is to group together printer cartridges and photo paper.  HP is well known for this, but all companies do it.  For this purpose, I am looking at HP only.

Value packs are usually half or less full printer cartridges designed only to last the number of sheets provided

(in the example above 150 sheets of 4x6).

.You are getting a cartridge that is not filled to capacity.

Moderate Yield Ink, what is it?

June 17, 2008

I have been getting a lot of questions about “moderate yield ink levels”.  So I figured I would spell it out plain and simple.  It is a waste of money.

Lexmark is the most common company that does moderate yield cartridges.  Cartridges like the 17, 27, 32, and 33 are only half full cartridges.

Bottom line, if you see moderate yield ink, don’t get it.  Get the High yield or Standard yield cartridge for your printer; it will save you money in the long run.

I have been using Ink In A Wink ink cartridge refilling service since 1997. My husband and I have a home based business, BSL - We Clean Computers so we use a lot of ink printing invoices and work orders. What a treat to have Wanda come to my house and fill up my cartridges in her vehicle in my driveway!

No fuss, no mess and no gas! Her prices are so reasonable that I try to tip her and she won`t let me! All I have to do is phone and leave a message and she calls me right back and arranges a time that is convenient.

All cartridges can be refilled only so many times. When mine is done and is not up to standard she reimburses me the next time! Again no tipping allowed!

So my tip to you is choose Ink In A Wink she`ll save you time, travel and money.

Awesome service! Thanks Wanda.

Warning on "NEW" Canon Inkjet Printer Models on the market

IMPORTANT: Predictably Canon is quick to respond to the resetter technology and the newer iP4600, iP3600, etc... printers all use a completely different cartridge and chip type. Personally and professionally I would not recommend one of these newer printers simply because they are a step back in terms of functionality and ink volume with slower and lower resolution print heads and smaller cartridges. They are also noisier, than older models. iP4500's or earlier are a much better option in almost every way!

If you have any questions about buying a new printer, please contact Wanda's Ink In A Wink, I will be happy to help.

Important!! Expect that your Inkjet cartridge will eventually fail

Cartridges have components that will fail with time. Electronic circuits may fail, print head nozzles can also fail and sponges can disintegrate.

Expect that your cartridge will need to be replaced eventually. How soon you would need to replace your cartridge will be partly up to you. By refilling early and taking care of your cartridge, you can extend the life of your cartridge.

Always keep a spare cartridge ready

Always be ready with a spare cartridge so that you would not be tempted to run the cartridge "to its last drop". By running the cartridge to empty, then it will be harder to refill, or will over heat and burn out the print head.

Convenience

"A friend gave me Wanda's business card and I contacted her by email. This was on a Friday and by Tuesday morning I had my ink, at well below what I was used to paying.  Not only does she now stock what I need, and delivers it free of charge, she saves me from having to drive from east of Comox town centre all the way to either London Drugs or Staples if I run out of ink. Now I hand out her business card to give other the same opportunity."
