Videograms
The illy collection of the Korean artist
Nam Jun Paik originated during his
exhibition at the Palazzo Reale in Milan in 1994. Paik -- an artist
and
musician who is considered the inventor of video art -- used the
curved
and translucent surface of the porcelain cup as a screen. Turning
it in
our hands, we can follow the story, creating a "painted short
film" in a
few seconds.

Italian Riviera
James Rosenquist, a giant of Pop Art
who calls himself, "old Schmierer"
(spreader in German, a word he's fond of) and has lived in symbiosis
with the paintbrush for all these years, now has the courage to
abandon
the brush. He is ready to create another language made up of long
strips of colorful French paper that he glues in gorgeous tangled
masses. This paper is used all over the world for banknotes. James
Rosenquist buys it white and paints it with durable paints to
obtain a
practically eternal color. With this system, James Rosenquist
created a
series of cups which reflect his ineffable lightness of being.
