We knew from the moment we first saw
it that Huldukot was the country reteat
we had dreamt of finding ...
Huldukot
Huldukot in late
summer, 2005.
You have to walk
well up the drive
before the cottage
becomes visible.
Greenland may not
be very green but
Huldukot (Hidden
Cottage) is well
sheltered from
view.

Huldukot viewed
from the back.
The sun room
catches the sun's
filtered rays -
morning, afternoon
and evening.
Looking towards
the woods ... and
the old outhouse.
We don't need the
privy but there's an
almost endless
supply of firewood
on the back half of
the lot.
The road to the
beach.
It's a short
walk to the lake
along Towering
Poplar Drive, which
twists past the
public reserve
behind Huldukot.
The beach at
Spruce Sands
is
only a few hundred
feet from the back
of Huldukot. On hot
summer days, the
beach is alive with
cottagers from
Spruce Sands,
Spruce Bay and
Bayshore Heights.
Huldukot is even
beautiful in the
winter!
Although
it's a little easier to
see in the winter
months, Huldukot is
still comfortably
hidden from the
road.
A crisp, cold
winter afternoon.
Huldukot is bathed
in sunlight during
the long Manitoba
winter.
The view west
along Viking Bay.
Spruce trees line
the road to
Huldukot, adding a
touch of green
even in winter.
Lake Winnipeg in
winter.
It's beach
hidden under a
blanket of snow,
Lake Winnipeg is
hauntingly beautiful
during the winter.
