The Home Christian's Handbookby Gordon Coulson
Many of our brothers and sisters struggle to find upbuilding Christian fellowship in their locale. They may attend conferences or telephone bible studies, but still long for in-person, face to face Christian meetings on a regular basis. There are usually plenty of mainstream churches nearby, but there is often concern about their doctrines and practices. The problem is compounded when children are involved. Where can families and individuals find upbuilding, biblically-based fellowship? For many, house church provides the solution. House church fellowship was the norm for Christians in the first century (Acts 2:1; 5:42; 16:15,40; 20:20; Romans 16:5; 1Cor 16:19; Col 4:15). The meetings were intimate, informal, interactive, and led by the Spirit. Many seeking fellowship today would do well to consider house church. Recognizing the need, HomeChristians.Net has been developoing a booklet for use in starting and maintaining your own house churches.. Part II - Forming, Storming, Norming, Performing Part VI - Patterns and Practices If you and your friends are considering house church, you are invited to read these articles. If there are any questions or comments, please send them to the admin@homechristians.net and we will try to help. Also, if you have experiences with house church, please send those to us--we would like to post them here for the benefit of others.
