SCOPE OF RESEARCH AREA - Families residing in the 1850 Robinson Huron and Superior Treaty of the Algoma District of Ontario. From Batchawana Bay on the north shore of Lake Superior to Thessalon, Ontario on north shore of Lake Huron. Along with the migration to and through the twin cities of Sault Ste. Marie.

Also available are select resource services for the county of Chippewa County, Michigan.

 

THE RESEARCH IS UNDERTAKEN BY HEATHER ARMSTRONG. 

THE FOLLOWING LISTS HER CREDENTIALS:

• 23 years of genealogical research experience. 18 years, dedicated to

  to Aboriginal genealogy

• Author of Genealogy Training Manual Tracing Your Metis Ancestry

  for the Metis Nation of Ontario

• Lectured at workshops in Upper Michigan and in Northern

  Ontario

• Researched and supported the genealogy for Steve Powley's legal

  defence during a Ontario Metis Hunting Rights court case.

ALL RESEARCH IS SUBJECT TO A $70.00 RETAINER. THIS RETAINER IS FOR THE FIRST 3 HOURS OF RESEARCH.

At the end of the first three hours of research, clients will be notified of all information discovered, along with avenues to persue for further data. As well as the estimated hours required to obtain the indicated research. A written report is included in the client fee. (Submitted by e-mail or regular Postal Service if e-mail is not available.) If TRAVEL outside this area is indicated, ADDITIONAL TRAVEL EXPENSES WILL BE ADDED TO RESEARCH CHARGES, and will be discussed before they are incurred. Client may purchase additional one hour searches as needed.

>> Retainer MUST be paid in full before research begins.
All agreed upon research fees MUST be paid full when the research has been completed. The research will not be sent until ALL payments have been made by cheque or money order to Heather Armstrong and mailed to 125 Spruce Street, Sault Ste. Marie, ON P6B 2G8


GUIDELINES FOR YOUR SUBMISSION OF DATA:

• It is useful to receive as much accurate information as possible relating to the ancestral line you are interested in (ie. religion, names of relatives) before the research is started.

• Please indicate what specific genealogical problem(s) you would liked researched and which ancestral line that you are most interested in at this time for research.


• Indicate whether deadlines are to be met and ensure that you are allowing plenty of time for requests to be accomplished.


• Research begins with an analysis of the genealogical problem(s) and information you have on the specific problem. Upon this, you will be given an  estimated prospect on the probable genealogical research at hand for your requests.
