2.  WILLIAM CARLTON2 YOUNG (JOHN1) was born February 13,
     1864 in Uxbridge Twp., Ontario, and died September
     26, 1943 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.  He married
     EMMA EDITH RAKESTRAW April 08, 1891 in Gravenhurst,
     Ontario, daughter of EDWIN RAKESTRAW and CATHERINE
     WADMAN.  She was born July 11, 1870 in Exeter,
     Devonshire, England, and died February 14, 1926 in
     Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

at Simpon's Funeral Home where services will be held in
the	chapel, Wednesday September 29, at 2 p.m.  Rev.
A.E. Holley officiating.  Interment in Greenwood
Cemetery.

Funeral of Mrs. W. Young, Goulais River, Held
Yesterday A highly estemed and respected resident
of Goulais River, in the person of Mrs. W. Young
passed away at the Plummer Hospital, Sunday
Febuary 14.  Her sterling qualies endeared her
to many friends and neighbors.  She was noted for
her hospitality and kindness, truly being one of
those "who lookest well to the ways of her
household". 

Besides her husband, she leaves to mourn her loss
a family of five sons, Percy of the Sault, Earl,
who served overseas with the 119th. Battalion,
Colin, Frank and one daughter Edith at home. 
This is the first break in the family and the
heart felt sympathy of a wide circle of friends
in the Sault and vicinity is extended to the
family in the loss of a faithful loving wife and
mother.

The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon from
Simpon's Undertaking Parlors.  The services were
conducted by Rev. W. Brooks of Tarentorus United
Church Circuit.  The pallbearers were Messers.
P. McLarty, Levi Anning, W.W. McCauly, Collin
McLarty, J. Draper and W. Ireland.

ON 80TH. BIRTHDAY
Friends, Neighbors Honored Percy

Goulais River - Friends and neighbors along
with his family, extended greetings to Percy
Young who was observing his 80th. birthday. 
The event was marked by a come and go
evening held at Mr. Young's home last week.

This very active oldster has spent most of
his life in Goulais and is still farming,
although he has given up planting entire
fields of potatoes as he used to do,
conceding they are a bit too much work.

Born in Sault Ste. Marie on June 22, 1892,
Percy was the first born to William and Emma
Young, a young couple who had moved north
from the Muskoka area. While still an infant,
Percy's family bought land in Goulais and a
home was built on what is now Colin Young's
farm.
