Lynn Leach of Downriver Farm in Laidlaw, B.C. hauls her sheep to
Vancouver Island
for all-breed herding clinics, usually twice a year. Lynn is a herding judge and a
well-known instructor who travels around Canada and the States when she isn't at home with her own
Australian Cattle Dogs and Border Collies. I have taken my dogs
and Minis owned by others to her clinics and herding instinct
tests. People were surprised that the "little dogs" could
move the sheep just as well as the larger breeds.I
also take my Minis to a local farm to practice
herding sheep under the guidance of an experienced handler. (Thanks, Stef)! |

September 2003: Rain keeping the sheep together, and keeping them moving.

May 2004: Rain and Tag were entered in the herding instinct test and earned their
Herding Instinct Certified (HIC) titles. The two girls and Cheyenne were also in the
clinic.

And again in June 2005!
As Rain and Tag had recently had
puppies, only Sprite participated in the clinic.
Sprite also earned her Herding Instinct Certified title.
