My two
former standard-sized Australian Shepherds, Cheyenne and Tyler
were featured in the movie "Black Point"
starring David Caruso, Susan Haskell, Thomas Ian Griffith and Eileen Pedde.
The dogs' small role included barking at a vehicle, running with
Caruso into the cabin, following the actors towards the bedroom and
then lying down as the door was slammed. Tyler a.k.a. "Riley"
also had
to "play dead" when she was shot.
One of the actors said they were the best behaved dogs he had ever
worked with on a set, and an additional short scene was added to
include more of the dogs.
The four days of filming were very long with not
much sleep as the filming was done at night and we had to remain on
site until the dogs were needed for their parts. It was a very
crowded set with over 150 people including
the crew, make-up artists, stand ins, extras, etc. but the dogs were
on their best behaviour and made lots of new friends. Most of
the actors and crew loved dogs and Cheyenne was continually dropping
for belly rubs.
Director David Mackay (on far right)
shared his beef jerky with the dogs.
I walk and train dogs for a living. Our dogs are all used to going for off leash
walks
with other dogs. It's a great way to get exercise and enjoy the beautiful outdoors.
