Pipers prove they're world-class

Winnipeg should be proud of the representation made recently in Scotland by the Heather Belle Women's Pipeband. I am a Canadian, from Saskatoon originally, who this year relocated to Perth, Scotland. It was with great pride that I stood on the pedestrian mall and listened to this world-caliber pipe band entertain the public for an hour. There were a number of teary-eyed listeners. The band is quite outstanding.

In addition, Winnipeg should know that Heather Wiens has proven in world competitions here in Scotland that Canadian women rank at the top in piping. On behalf of Canadians, and westerners in particular, I made a contribution towards wine with their evening meal. Congratulations, Winnipeg.
