Here's what to do if you'd like to be a part of the Happy Puppy Records label family:
We're interested in almost any kind of music, but we specialize in experimental, avant-garde, electronic and ambient. However, we have been known to release some rock/pop/weirdo stuff too. Please keep in mind that we are primarily a netlabel - in other words, we give most of our music away for free via Creative Commons. If you don't agree with our practices, then don't send us anything. Why do we do this? Click here for a long explanation. If you're cool with this, and you haven't released the album on any other netlabel, then send us mp3s that are encoded no lower than 192 kbps. You can also send .wav or .flac. Include artwork for front and back covers that would fit in a slim line (no smaller than 800 x 800 if you can) or full jewel-case art (it's up to you), info about the release and yourself or your band, along with a picture for webpage or promo purposes. If you don't provide us with artwork, we'll make one ourselves. Please make sure to number the tracks in the correct running order with track titles. I don't want to guess how to sequence it. Zip it all up, upload it, and send us the download URL. Websites like yousendit or megaupload are great for transferring large files for free. If we like what we hear, we'll contact you and add your music to the label. You own the copyright to your music and recordings, and can do whatever you want with them anytime. If you change your mind and no longer wish to be on the label, we will remove it, no problem. We will also promote your release to the best of our resources, and we expect you to help us with that. Sound good? Email us to get started.
