Various: King For A Day
a fan tribute to XTC (Volume 1)
[hpr047]

With the permission of the curator of the original project Richard Pedretti-Allen, Happy Puppy is extremely proud to present the first of a series of volumes of the King For A Day: fan tribute to XTC project, originally called Chalkhills Children.

There were three compilations in 1996-98 released on cassette, and then the grand idea of collecting those tapes with a call for new recordings surfaced in 2001.

This first volume released by Happy Puppy contains tracks from the first cassette that was released in 1996. Volume two is now available as well!

The King For A Day CD-R contains over 130 covers of XTC in mp3 format and copies of the CD are still available (for a VERY low price), which you can order from Richard by clicking the Paypal link below:

Thanks to Robert Wegmann for his support of this project, all the contributors, Phish for allowing the free distribution of concert recordings, and all those who sent extra tracks and CDs of their own material.

Lastly, to XTC in all their incarnations and phases of growth... if we could thank you in the most descriptive, effusive, eloquent and/or glistening prose imaginable, you still wouldn't understand the value of your music to us... so, simply thanks and don't stop.
