May 2013

Happy May! Lee has released the second volume in the Time-Lapse series, this time focusing on slow-motion relaxing and meditative music. Here's a video for "Illuminations" that was set to a beautiful animated gif by Mr Div:

April 2013

Little update for you.. for Record Store Day this year, we've gone a little AWOL from our digital domain and dropped off limited-edition cassette copies of Lee's Xeno EP at Red Cat Records in Vancouver! And a new yet-unreleased remix of Lee's tune "No Pants Friday" appears in this tasteful kickstarter campaign.. I AM FARTACUS! Mmmmmwwwa! G'nite everybody!

It's a happy day around the pupster place as we turn seven years old today! That's 41 dog years, y'know. And to celebrate, we've got a special treat for all lo-bit fans.. the entire Happy Puppy album and single output in one lo-bit box! That's right, we've squeezed 610 tracks, over 41 hours of music into 285mbs! Who wants cake?

Today we're very pleased to bring you this collection that has been in development for over a year. Thanks to the extremely generous Bob Purse, we're starting a compilation series of song-poems that Bob has curated on his site The Wonderful and the Obscure... and the first volume features none other than the song-poem genius Rodd Keith!

March 2013

Two new items! We've just posted the third volume of King For A Day: a fan tribute to XTC, and Adam Sigmund (aka Origami Repetika) has sent his a new EP called Little Bumble, full of bubbly chiptunes that we think kids might like too, not just adults. Share and enjoy!

You already know how much we love song-poems. So does Tony "Phoneyfresh" Vosik - he created a song-poem blog, recording songs based on original lyrics that were sent in. Unfortunately, the files are no longer online and Tony lost his originals... but thankfully our own Lee saved almost all of them, and with Tony's permission, they are back online!

February 2013

It's no secret that we love song-poems around here, so we're especially thrilled that Lee is doing a bi-weekly song-poem show on basic.fm! The Makers of Smooth Music debuts this week, February 19 at 9pm UK time (4pm EST, 1pm PST) and replays twice more over the next two weeks. Tune in!

It's February and it's a brand new release from Peter DiPhillips - his second on Happy Puppy. Midnight Sun is more of his ambient-meditative-soundscape compositions, with a little darkness thrown in, over an hour of music for free!

We're re-opening the call for submissions for our Drones To Make Dinner By release - we have enough now for an EP and we'd like to try and get more. New deadline is April 30th - spread the word!

January 2013

Well, they've officially been offline for 10 years, but now Happy Puppy is proud to re-release the complete set of Jem and the Holograms remixes, originally done by our very own DJ Fudge for his website Jem Starlight Jukebox back in 1998. Truly outrageous!

Happy new year...and we have brand new music for your from Lee Rosevere - available for purchase now from Bandcamp, it's a 6-track EP called Xeno, that also includes an exclusive 30-page PDF photo artbook!
