• September 10, 2005: 1 Dark-eyed Junco (Oregon race) seen at Andover Road.
• September 2005: Up to 4 Dark-eyed Juncos seen regularly in a garden at Marina Way.
• October 11, 2005: About 5 Dark-eyed Juncos seen at Eaglecrest Place.
• October 19, 2005: 6 Dark-eyed Juncos seen at the Nanoose Bay Estuary.
• Christmas Bird Count, December 17, 2005: 937 Dark-eyed Juncos.
• January 11, 2006: Numerous Dark-eyed Juncos seen between Dolphin Lake and the top of Rockhampton Rd.
• February 8, 2006: About 20 Dark-eyed Juncos seen at the Englishman River Estuary.
• January and Februay 2006: Dark-eyed Juncos seen in good numbers and with regularity at Marina Way, but decreasing in number noticeably towards the end of February.
• Dark-eyed Juncos can be seen in any month in the Nanoose area, but not with equal frequency. More are seen in the winter than in the summer months. Nevertheless, a successful nest was observed in a garden on Marina Way in August 2008, another one in a garden on Andover Road in May-June, 2008.
