Concert grand and Celtic harps
Gwyneth plays three different harps: a Celtic (folk) harp, an antique gold concert harp, and a concert grand harp.

Elaborate harps of gold have been discovered in tombs of ancient Egypt dating back to 3,000 B.C. Throughout history, in their various shapes and sizes, they have added beauty and texture to special celebrations.

Today, harps are played in various forms around the world.  Lending a uniquely beautiful colour to romantic and modern music, harps are played in symphony orchestras, jazz ensembles and traditional folk groups, and as solo instruments in many settings.

The concert grand harp is a strikingly beautiful instrument which uses 46 strings and a system of pedals to enable the performer to play almost any type of music.  The full, rich sound is well suited to churches, halls and larger gatherings, or provides an elegant look and sound for any occasion.

The Celtic harp is a somewhat smaller harp with a delicate but clear and ringing sound.  Lighter and more portable than the concert grand harp, it has 36 strings, and sharping levers instead of pedals. Traditional, folk and some classical music sound lovely on the Celtic harp.
