Who
are we? Studio 30 Art Club is a group
of Victoria, B.C. artists that meets the second and fourth Wednesdays of the
month from September through May. Club
members work in a variety of mediums including watercolour, acrylic, oil, colour
pencil, ink, and pastel. Studio 30
members display their work twice a year at shows in local malls.
Why
are we called “Studio 30”? Our name comes from the fact
that the group began with 30 artists. What
do we do at meetings? The fourth Wednesday is a
business meeting followed by a demonstration by a local artist.
The second Wednesday meeting is more variable.
It may involve a demonstration, a paint night or even a critique. Are
new members welcome? Absolutely!
Anyone who paints or draws, and is interested in meeting other artists
with similar interests is welcome to come and “try us out”.
What
do I have to do as a member? A Studio 30 member is expected
to attend the meetings, display in the mall shows and become involved in the
club! Where
do we meet? All club meetings take place at
the Les Passmore Centre, 286 Hampton Road, Victoria, BC, Canada (near the
Tillicum Mall). From September
through May, meeting times are from 7pm to 9pm on the second and fourth
Wednesdays of the month. How
do I contact the club? You are welcome to come to one
of our meetings. Alternatively, if
you would like more information, call Gerry Moore at 598-4185 or email gr.moore@shaw.ca.
