In 1949 the comedy legends Abbott and Costello released  AFRICA SCREAMS, a film that was produced independently, outside of Universal Studios. Although some of their material in this film is not as strong as some of their other silver screen outings, Gemora steals the latter half of the film.

Bud and Lou manage to get themselves into the heart of Darkest Africa after misrepresenting Lou to a young lady as a great explorer who has intimate knowledge of the region. The expedition runs afoul of natives and wild beasts with our hapless duo naturally getting themselves in trouble. Gorilla suit work abounds and this is one of my favourite comedy outings of Charles'.
