Monkeyman a.k.a. Axwell Tiberius
|

At the sprawling San Francisco mansion of famous inventor and adventurer, Prof. William S. O'Brien (now missing for 2 years) his daughters Ann and Oniko meet for the first time in 15 years. Ann Darrow O'Brien (the youngest of the pair) has been in charge of her father's estates and global business holdings since his mysterious disappearance but Oniko has returned to the family she turned her back on, in order to gain control of the vast empire. Meeting in Sub-Lab 7, the last place their father was seen, the sister's argument evolves into a scuffle and Oniko shoves Ann, who stumbles back, accidentally hitting some buttons on a control panel. As they continue to fight a screen blinks "SUB-SPACE LIFE FORM SEARCH AND RETRIEVAL PROGRAM" and machinery hums as the device locks on organic matter from another dimension. |
|
Ann and Oniko cease their dispute as the equipment warns that a detonation in the retrieval beam will overload the containment grid. Helpless to do anything, the sisters are flung back as an explosion tears apart the lab. Luckily, both Ann and her sibling survive but the violent event has deposited two visitors amongst the rubble, a giant in a space suit and the mangled corpse of an white ape-like creature. |

Some time later, Ann and her assistant revive and approach the giant. Removing the helmet they are shocked to discover the massive stranger is a gorilla. |
He regains consciousness and attempts to communicate in an unintelligible alien language; Ann is unexpectedly soothed by the monkeyman's voice and feels unthreatened by him. The gorilla appears to realize he is missing something and suddenly goes berserk, tearing through the rubble before finally collapsing into a shuddering heap. Ann comforts the beast, and pledges to take care of him since it was her father's machines that ensnared him.

Ann escorts Monkeyman out of the lab and up to her father's library. The gorilla perks up and displays a deep interest in the thousands of books housed there. Ann offers Monkeyman some children's books and videos that she had used as a child when learning how to read. Over the next week the strange
traveler pours over the room's contents, barely pausing for rest; during this time Ann notices that she needs less and less sleep as well as changes in her perception. Since the day of the explosion her eyes remained orange (much like the Monkeyman's) and Ann suspects that she had been exposed to unearthly radiation. |

The gorilla introduces himself as Axwell Tiberius and inquires if Ann or her assistant know where his homing device is so he can return to his dimension. Ann explains that her sister was present in the lab the day of his arrival and Akiko adds that
Oniko's henchmen had knocked her out and removed Ann's sister and the other ape-creature. Tiberius remains markedly silent about the identity of the second being snared by the retrieval beam.
The following day Ann decides to build an extension to her father's mansion that could
accommodate Axwell's massive frame while they search for the answers to his quest to return home. As the days pass, Ann's transformation continues; she grows stronger and more energetic finally topping out at 250 lbs and 7ft of Amazonian power.
While Ann assists Axwell in repairing her father's device, the Monkeyman attempts to enlighten her on the existence of multiple dimensions in a single unified reality; some "realms" fit together like a honeycomb, with a thin membrane-like "trans-dimensional boundary" separating them. It was from this boundary zone that Axwell was pulled. In addition, other alternate dimensions occupy the same space, but are separated by vibrational frequencies and/or spectral shifts.

Within a month the work is complete. Yet, even with the transporter rebuilt, there is no way for Axwell Tiberius to find his way home without his homing device. |
It could be days or years before Monkeyman achieves his goal. And in the meantime; where is Oniko and the mysterious white ape? Is the homing device in their possession? Before they can learn the answers to these questions they will have to face the horror that is Shrewmanoid, fend off the invasion of the Froglodytes and travel through the Terminus to battle alien terrors as the unstoppable team of Monkeyman and O'Brien!
