Moko the Monk

Moko's strip went through a few name and format changes over the 3 years it ran in the Sun. 'Moko the Baby Monkey' debuted in #59 (February 1950) and had Moko getting himself into mischief in the short, silent feature. Initially drawn by Robert MacGillivray, the artistic chores were handed over to Hugh McNeill in issue #163 (March 29 1952) and the strip became full colour and renamed 'Moko the Mischievious Monk' , also moving to the front page. A short time later, the name was changed again after the addition of a sidekick parrot; from May 17 the strip became 'Moko and Boko'. |
