Steve's Place
Dave Bronze / Pete Thompson
on tour and in the studio

It seems ever since these friends hooked back up they have been collaborating on a number of recordings and tours.
Pete had been down in Australia with Dave backing up Eric Bibb a couple of months ago. Now they are together again on a U.K. tour again with Bibb.
When not on tour they also found time to help out Producer Mark Daghorn with one of his projects. Mark owns the studio where a good part of "Living Out Of Time" was recorded.
Mark sent me the following :

Recording rhythm tracks on Sharp Practises Radiocity album,
with Dave Bronze and Pete Thompson:-

One Of the longest projects I have ever been involved in is an album called Radiocity by Sharp Practise. Having produced the band’s first album, Hiya, in a little over four weeks, I was expecting
a similar time frame on this album when we started work on it during May 2000, but due to a number of line up changes, and material being dropped/added, I have now finished this album and mixed it five times already.
One of the key problems was the change of vocalist on four occasions, resulting in the need to
re record vocals and remix the album.
When the band’s main man, Nigel Clothier settled on vocalist/guitarist Anthony Kempster during the summer of this year, we started tracking the vocals on the albums ten songs, and it quickly became apparent that there was a lot of inconsistencies with the bass and drums, mainly due to the fact that they were recorded in several different sessions, but also because the songs had developed and changed a lot since the rhythm tracks were laid down.
So, after my experience of recording Dave Bronze and Pete Thompson on Robin Trower’s Living’ Out Of Time album last year, I decided that these could well be the guys for the job. Luckily we all had a couple of days where it slotted in to our schedules and we got down to business at the end of October.
The guys did an absolutely top job, putting fantastic new rhythm tracks down on the album, and they really have brought it to life. I honestly believe them to be one of the finest rhythm sections in the business.
So, just a few vocals left to do, then mix the album ready for release early next year. Without a doubt, Pete and Dave’s contributions have brought it to life, and are very special - Big thanks to them.
Mark
