I
had heard some roughs of the recordings around a few of the songs on this
release
and was
very impressed by the combination of Greg Serrato's blistering guitar work,
the
solid bass
playing of BLX bassist Mark Fry and of course the talents of Bill Lordan
go without
saying. The finished product is far beyond that. This is a great
cd.
Please
don't hesitate to add this to your collection.

Last Time Around
Blues For
Jimmy
Based around
the familiar BOS riff but with some very tasty differences,
this song
pays tribute to Jimmy Dewar and you will love this.
I loved the pure finesse of Buddy Holly & Freddie King and the complexity of Hendrix , Clapton , Santana & Stevie Ray Vaughan. Right after High School (1975) I was listening to Trower when Bill was playing with him. I've tried to take all my influences and place them within my own playing. Zappa's playing on (the Apostrophe Album) and Jeff Beck's (Wired) were a big influence indeed; as you hear in BL's Groove. Very good ear you have!! In Blues For Jimmy, My Spirit Dances and Simple Life, I tried to incorporate the Trower vibe because of Bill's history with Trower. I tried to draw out the past from Bill's playing. I think his fans want to hear that. As we all do!!! Listen to "Simple Life" closely and you will hear Bill's signature licks from Trower's "Gonna Be More Suspicious." Hendrix has alwas been my guitar hero. I saw him when I was eleven and that was the pinnacle of my musical career! He was amazing!!! Alvin Lee was also one of my favs!
