I received my Living Out Of Time cd today. I am very impressed with the band.  Davey Pattison is excellent on vocals again. Dave Bronze and Pete Thompson  are the perfect compliment for Robin's awesome guitar sound. This is Robin at his  best with his crying guitar hitting the nerves in your soul like only he can. He is as soulful as always and lets his guitar be the perfect match for Pattison's vocals. I  hope these four great musicians can find a way to tour the United States in 2004 because it would be a great line-up.  Thanx for the awesome music through the years Robin. DS
Okay, it's time to weigh in on this CD.  I just received mine in the mail and am in the midst of my first listen -- but the effect on me was immediate: this is a brilliant work that brings so much of Robin's uniqueness to bear.  Robin's "tonal pallette" has broadened, as if that were possible! It is not, thank god, another attempt to cover 12-bar blues songs.  It is a collection of quirky songs that showcase Robin's personal approach to songwriting.  It is surely not a commercial venture, and thank god for that, too.  I for one have been waiting for this, that is: Robin writing songs from his own heart and not for commercial success or whatnot.  In some ways, it takes me back to the sixties, in song style; but the sound is crystalline like only modern recordings can be.  What attracted me to Robin's music those many decades ago was its idiosyncratic quality, a quality of other-worldliness that has held me in thrall regardless of the subject matter of the lyrics for all of these years.  This CD, Living Out Of Time, is a fulfilling and deeply moving collection of songs all crafted with mastery and played with an artistry that rises to the level of sorcery.  It will stand as one of Robin's greatest, when all the history-of-music books have been written.  TK
Hello Trower fans everywhere. Just wanted to say that the new LIVING OUT OF TIME cd, is his new release that every fan should own. I have had it less than  24 hours, and it's growing on me, and will continue for some time. It is awesome  to hear this classic eighties lineup of musicians again. I will stop preaching now, and say you must hear it for yourselves! RK
This latest CD, LOOT, is nothing short of a finely crafted masterpiece from a man who's been perfecting his craft for 40 years. I felt that the title cut, "Living Out Of Time", would be a perfect Trower song for radio from the first time I heard it during the concerts in 2001. Then, when I heard the second song, "Sweet Angel", on the website, I instantly fell in love with that song. But now that I've heard the album, those songs are only two from a disc that is loaded with songs that are shining examples of classic Trower music that has never been more ready
for "radio airplay".  I couldn't be more pleased with this album. Robin Trower is a masterful producer and musician. I just wish that Robin would get more recognition for his accomplishments, which the new CD aptly demonstrates.  RL
I think Robin really did something special. The last song on the CD is I Want To Take You With Me. In my opinion it is one of the most honest and enjoyable songs he has written. GF
It is a stunning piece of work! Living Out Of Time and Sweet Angel (the chosen songs for the website) were merely the tip of the iceberg.  I am so impressed with the quality of the songwriting! And it's also clear that the lineup was the missing link that makes RTB a powerhouse group.   I love Davey's vocals on this! I'm hearing so many different guitar sounds, too! It has such incredible layering, beautifully produced! RL
How does Robin pull so much beautiful music from one instrument?
YES !!  I believe in magic.......................
I can't believe however I am lost for words to describe this album. Words like awesome, fantastic, superb, dynamic all are meaningless and fall short of the mark.
The passion Robin has for his music was never so evident than it is here. LOOT sits up there with LMD, VOTF and BOS. Just let that guitar take you all the way with it on the closing track. I Want To Take You With Me.....  I'm gone! D.P. never sounded so good.
Another Time, Another Place reaches deep down into your soul and finds a way of lifting you gently to another plain delivering you into the arms of a Sweet Angel. RM
A great review from Ken Stasion on the Procol site  here
To state the obvious, the band is amazing. Davey Pattison's voice compliments Trower's style perfectly. He really is an undiscovered gem. Dave Bronze makes his bass playing stick out so that even an ignoramus like me can appreciate it. Likewise Pete Thompson's drumming. In fact, they're all so good they make non-musicians sit up and wish they'd paid attention in music class! BQ
