Prairie Journey

Most summers, we travel from British Columbia back to Canada's prairie provinces to visit friends and family and to enjoy photography. Our BC associates often question why we would spend time and film photographing the flat, uninteresting landscape of Manitoba, Saskatchewan or Alberta.

The following pages show a few of the images we made on this year's (2002) prairie trek. We hope you agree that this part of Canada does offer plenty of opportunity for successful photography.

The face of the prairies is changing. The old wooden grain elevators are being replaced with concrete "inland terminals". The one above is located in Melfort Saskatchewan.
