GlamaRama is owned and operated by professional hair and make-up artist, Triste September (photo).

Triste has had a lifelong passion for self expression through hair and make-up, graduating from Marvel Beauty College in Calgary in 1986. Her involvement with Calgary's alternative music and drag community in the 80s and early 90s provided her with endless inspiration and venues to hone her hair and make-up skills.

Triste moved to Vancouver in 1994 to further pursue her career and graduated from the Blanche MacDonald Institute in 1995. Working at the Underground from 1994-97 led to many opportunities for print work and fashion show work. In 1997, as counter manager for Niko Cosmetics, Triste taught classes to make-up artistry students, sharing her techniques and knowledge with them. In 1998 it was back to the Underground and the creation of the Beauty Bar which offered an alternative to stuffy make-up counters, encouraging our clients to have fun and experiment with make-up, wigs and hair colour. Triste left the Beauty Bar in 2001.

Triste has spent the last few years living a freelance life and loving it, learning new skills and meeting the beautification needs of her ever expanding and loyal clientele.
