Review:
This hostel (guest house) is the private home of the Lindner family.
It is one of several guest houses up on a cul-de-sac just outside of Salzburg.
There are 4 rooms total for guests, 1 bathroom and 1 bath/shower room. The
shower was hot but it had an odd overflow thing in the middle of the bathroom
floor--I just got used to it. Strangely, there were about 8 other people staying
in the dorm-style rooms but we never had conflicting bathroom or shower times.
The beds were very comfortable--huge square feather pillows which were fabulous.
The price could not be beat--it was 15 euros per person in November of 2002. Of
course that was when the euro was at the same value as the dollar, so it was
about US$16 per night. Breakfast is included--juice, tea, coffee, breads and
cereal.
Frau and Heir Lindner were very helpful at breakfast talking with us about
routes to take when driving down to Italy. They also had many guide books in the
kitchen that they let us borrow during our stay--it was really nice.
Other perks: feels like someone's home, no curfew, no smoking, not crowded,
quiet safe neighborhood with parking, cute friendly cat named "Fruh" running
around.
