Hickmott of Kent Family Tree

The Hickmott's in this Family Tree appear to have come from Kent. Unfortunately record keeping prior to 1837 was reliant to a large part of on church wardens and the baptismal, marriage and death records are not all that accurate. The descendants of the Hickmott's have spread far and wide throughout not only England, but the rest of the world. My family is descended from George and Clarrisa Hickmott who came out to New Zealand with their four eldest sons in 1875. I know there are many Hickmott families that are not connected to the Hickmott's in this tree. They may be related but there is not sufficient evidence to link them. The records prior to John Hickmott and his marriage to Agnes and going back to Thomas Hickmott and Elizabeth Kingswoode are rather sketchy and their are a lot of gaps and questionable connections.

I would very much like to try to connect back any Hickmott's to this family roots if at all possible.

I have been very fortunate in having a number of people - sometimes very distant relatives who I had no knowledge of, offer to share their part of a family tree and family photographs, information on family occupations and their migration to far parts of the world.
I thank them very much for this and hope they find this website very useful in expanding their own family trees.

I am always looking at add information, particularly old photographs as these can become a valuable legacy. If you can help, please let me know. I have recently received many photos from a variety of sources which has contributed to the number already here. Thanks to all those who have kindly made these available.
