Games I played and worked on:
My first wargame was chess that my grandfather played with me when I was a kid. I still play occasionally and buy chess books regularly. First wargame purchased was Stratego (a wooden set which I still have). Moved up to Avalon Hill games with D-Day and the rest in the mid to late 60's. Played a lot of SPI games too and still have quite a few in my collection. Chris Wagner (founder of Strategy and Tactics magazine) lived in Albany, NY briefly in the 60's. A good friend (Gary Bedrosian) and I playtested games that were submitted to him for review in the magazine. Still have an original Trafalgar by Roger Cormier that was a favorite of mine.
Gary and I designed a 4X space game called StarLord, which we sold ourselves. He, I and another friend (Richard Christie) designed quite a few of the original computer wargames for Avalon Hill including Midway Campaign, North Atlantic Convoy Raider, Close Assault, Nukewar, and B-1 Nuclear Bomber. We also designed two fantasy and sci-fi titles; Empire of the Overmind and Planet Miners.
Recent playtesting included some post release testing of Battle of Britain by Talonsoft. I also participated in alpha and beta testing for their 12 O'clock High: Bombing the Reich. Shortly after that Glenn approached me about testing for the PzC series and that is what I've been doing ever since. I'm sort of the Team Bug Buster in that when people find them (testers or bug reports from the public), Glenn gets me to "slice them and dice them" so we can give John Tiller as much inforamtion as we can about the problem.
Day Job:
I've held various jobs for the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation for the past 23 years. Currently supervising the team responsible for Unix administration.
Other Interests:
Married for 3 ½ years. We have a 16 month old son and a 3 year old Boston Terrier. Outside activities include golf, fishing, and tuning the bagpipes for the local pipe band. I also have a private pilots license.
