The picture shows of of the areas along the edge of the Korsun Salient at the beginning of the Korsun Pocket Campaign - 10 Feb. Note the ground conditions in this image is Mud.

This picture, where the map has Soft ground conditions, is a 2D Zoom Out of much of the area in the Kanev Soviet Airborne Scn - Sept 1943.

Kanev Again, this time in 2D Normal, but with the Ground conditions still Soft. Note the Pontoon Bridges over the Dnepr and the Engineer Unit with the Label "Has Boats". This unit can ferry other units over the full water hex, but then these ferried units can't take their transport with them, hence the other Infantry unit in the "On Foot" status. There is also a British made, Soviet 'Lend-Lease' Matilda tank shown in the Unit window.
