Welcome to the British Columbia Radio Conference website for 2003.

The volunteers at Gabriola Co-op Radio would like to invite you to BCRC03. The conference will be held on Sat/Sun August 30th/31st, 2003 and our detailed schedule is now available. Please download an 11 x 17 copy of our poster for your station (pdf file).

Registration for BCRC03 is $20, that includes lunch on both days and tickets to the live show Saturday night. You may pre-register by completing the form on our website and mailing, faxing emailing the info to us. Visa credit cards accepted. To register just show up at 9:00 am at The Haven (240 Davis Road) on Gabriola Island.

The conference facilities at The Haven Resort, Seminar and Conference Centre are fabulous. It is a dedicated conference facility with trained staff and equipment for providing support to professional workshops.Workshops will be provided to cover the areas of radio operation: Administrative (regulatory), Radio Skills, Technical and Programming. Technical workshops moved to the Haven. The response for the technical workshops has been so large we moved all the workshops to Gabriola. The Haven was larger and able to handle the numbers expected.

The Haven is a 20 minute walk, ten minute bike/kayak ride from the Gabriola Ferry Terminal. The Haven is waterfront and has a kayak landing area.

Traveling to the conference:
Campers could easily bike or kayak to the conference (10 minute trip).
Kayak rentals are available on Gabriola from Jim ($35 single, $50 double per day)
The conference location on Gabriola is accessible (via Ferries and buses) by bicycle from downtown Vancouver via Horseshoe Bay.

Costs:
Same as last year. $20 for first from each station, $15 for any next booking. The volunteers are very interested in helping to put on a great weekend of workshops and other social events. We will closely follow the program of the regional conference held in Vancouver 2002, but with a Gabriola twist. Expect a great weekend; Gabriola is at its most beautiful in August.
