The NHRA rule book states that any car going 11.99 and quicker requires a 6 point roll bar. In a 10.99 and quicker car it requires a roll cage if the floor or firewall has been altered. The only reason anyone would alter a floor is because the car is rusty or you put in a aluminum floor. The roll cage will add more weight than you will save putting in an aluminum floor. My advice is don't build a car with a rusted out floor.

All six bars have to be welded directly to the frame. It is necessary to cut holes in the floor to weld bars to the floor. You then weld the floor parts back in after installation.

The rear bars can be no steeper than 30 degrees. The two bars angled towards the center only have to be installed if you want them or if the rollbar is going into a unibody car such as a Nova. Then these bars are welded to the frame extenders. Have somebody knowledgeable in this area install the rollbar. Your local welder will probably install it wrong. Price $435.00 installed.
