I opted to leave some stock gauges in the car since I drive
on the street. I left the speedo and indicators but removed the oil press
and temp indicators.
It is your choice how many and what kind of instruments
you want to purchase. I found that water temp, oil press, and a large tach
with shift light was sufficient. I chose Autometer for they seem to stand
up to vibration the best.

I chose this 5" tach. The black face is cheaper but the 8000 rpm as opposed to the 10,000 rpm cost more. It also has a 1" shift light which shows up better when your looking in the rearview mirror while bracket racing. Price $250.00

I chose electric gauges instead of mechanical. They are more expensive but cheaper to repair. The main advantage of an electrical gauges; you will not have hot oil squirting around in the car with you in case of a leak in the gauge plumbing and the copper tube in the water temp gauge is vulnerable to sharp bends causing gauge failure. It is much easier to rerun a new wire than buy a new gauge. Price for the pair $316.30
