Crossmember
(scroll down)

You can by a tranny crossmember already made from G-Force for about $300.00 You can also make a square tube one by building a jig around the stock crossmember. I found this very expensive and time consuming. I'd rather buy one.
This is a simple modification to the crossmember for dual exhaust. With the crossmember in place and the headers already installed in the car, see the "Header" section, mark the crossmember where the exhaust pipe will come through.

Using 12" long piece of 1"x3" channel, center it on the top of the crossmember where the exhaust will come through. Tack it on each end but do not weld it here. It will weaken the crossmember. Run a bead of weld down each side of the channel welding it to the crossmember.

crossmember notched for exhaust pipe

Using a torch or cut off blade in a grinder, cut a 5" notch out of the crossmember. The C-channel will also double as a trough to protect the speedo cable from the heat.

Install in car. Tip: If you have problems getting it to clear the tranny mount. Shorten the bolt coming out of the mount. Mine was way too long and in the way. The channel was a piece of scrap and a friend welded it for free. Price $0.00
